The conditions available when you filter a column in the clients list, and what each one matches.
Filtering the Client table
Filters are available on the following columns in the Client table:
- Client Name
- Client Number
- Client Type — this filter presents a list of the client types that currently exist in your firm, so you don't need to type a name; simply select the type(s) you want to filter on.
- Primary Contact
- Billing Contact Email
- Client Partner
- Client Manager
- Billing Manager
- Client Office
Filtering is not available on custom field columns.
Conditions
Filter conditions outlined in the table below are available for the aforementioned columns of the Client table:
| Condition | Matches |
|---|---|
| Equals | Values identical to what you enter |
| Does not equal | Everything except an exact match |
| Contains | Values with your text anywhere inside them |
| Does not contain | Values without your text anywhere inside them |
| Starts with | Values beginning with your text |
| Ends with | Values ending with your text |
| Is empty | Records with no value in the column |
| Is not empty | Records with any value in the column |
Is empty and Is not empty take no value.
Key concepts
- Matching is case sensitive.
- Multiple filters on the same column are possible.
Combining conditions
Filters on more than one column combine with AND or OR, which changes what comes back. See How AND and OR change what the client list returns.
