Decide whether clients you mark inactive in your practice management system should be excluded from Aiwyn, and therefore lose Client Portal access. This decision should be made during initial system implementation.
Steps
- Answer both of these questions about your own firm:
- Does your practice management system, or your firm's policy, require you to write off unbilled WIP before you can set a client's status to what your firm treats as inactive?
- Does your system or policy require you to write off unpaid invoices and finance charges before you can set the status of the client to “inactive”?
- Decide based on your answers:
- Yes to both. It is safe to exclude inactive clients. A client cannot reach inactive status while they still owe you anything, so excluding them cannot strand a client with an unpaid balance and no way to pay it.
- Anything other than yes to both. Do not exclude clients based on status. A client could be inactive and still owe money, and excluding them removes their route to paying it.
- Tell Aiwyn every client status value that exists in your system, and which of them your firm treats as inactive.
What exclusion changes
