Report views let you save the current state of a report so you can quickly return to a specific configuration without reapplying filters or settings.
Understanding Views
You can reuse common analyses by returning to a saved snapshot of how the report was configured at a specific moment. Views typically capture:
- Selected filters and filter values
- Sorting or display settings applied within visuals
Saving a View
You can save the current report configuration as a reusable view for quick access later.
- Configure the dashboard by applying filters adjusting settings.
- Select save view on the left side of the filters.
- Enter a clear, descriptive name for the view.
- Choose whether or not this view should be shared with the rest of your team.
- If this option is not able to be selected, your user may not have permission to share views.
- Select save.
- Once saved, the view is available the next time you open the dashboard.
Accessing Saved Views
You can quickly switch between saved configurations directly within the report.
Saved views appear as selectable options on the left-hand side of the filters panel after at least one view has been created. Selecting a view immediately updates the dashboard to match the saved configuration across all tabs.
Updating an Existing View
You can overwrite a saved view as your analysis changes over time.
- Modify the report by changing filters or settings.
- Select the view name when a blue dot appears next to it.
- Open the dropdown menu and select Update.
Resetting a Report
You can discard temporary changes and return the dashboard to a saved configuration.
Open the view dropdown menu and select Reset Liveboard to remove all views and filters without modifying the saved view.
Deleting Views
You can remove views that are no longer needed to keep the list organized.
- Open the Select View menu to the left of the filters panel.
- Select Manage Views.
- Select Delete next to the view you want to remove.
Sharing and Visibility of Views
You can control who can access a saved view, with some important limitations.
- Dashboard views are user-specific by default.
- Views are not automatically shared with other users.
- You can select Anyone Can View in Manage Views after the view is created.
- You can select Make View Available To Everyone With Access To This Liveboard when creating the view.
