The New transaction forms let firm staff record payments made outside of Aiwyn, write-offs, credit adjustments, and debit memos. Use this reference to understand the fields available on each form.
Fields

| Client | Yes | All forms | The client the transaction belongs to. Search for and select a client to load their open invoices in Allocation. |
| Payment method | Yes | Payment | How the payment was made. Defaults to Check. Options are Check and ACH. |
| Bank | Yes | Payment | The bank account receiving the payment. |
| Reference | Yes | Payment | An external identifier, such as a check number or transaction ID. This value appears in the transaction grid's Reference column. |
| Transaction date | Yes | All forms | For a payment, the date the payment was received. For other transaction types, the date the entry is recorded. |
| Deposit date | Yes | Payment | The date the payment was deposited. |
| Note | No | All forms | Additional transaction details. For a write-off, record the reason and approver for the audit trail. For an adjustment or debit memo, describe the credit or charge. |
| Total payment amount | Yes | Payment | The amount received. |
| Total write-off amount | Yes | Write-off | The amount to write off. |
| Total credit adjustment amount | Yes | Credit adjustment | The amount of the credit. |
| Total debit memo amount | Yes | Debit memo | The amount of the charge. |
| Allocation | No | All forms | The invoices, credits, or payments to apply the transaction against. If left empty, the transaction is saved as unallocated. |
Controls
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Save & Close | Posts the transaction and closes the form. |
| Save & New... | Posts the transaction and opens a blank form of the same type. |
| This Transaction | Shows the allocation details for the transaction being entered. |
