Use variables to standardize the name of each engagement. This name is also used as the PDF filename when the engagement letter is downloaded from the portal.
Each variable should be formatted with two curly braces on each side of the placeholder name. For example, {{client.name}}.
| Placeholder | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
client.name | The name of the client | Acme, Co |
client.number | The client number | 123456 |
firm.name | The name of the firm | A-Team Accounting |
letter_template.name | The name of the engagement letter template used for the engagement | Income Tax Return |
fiscal_year.long | The fiscal year date in long format | January 1, 2024 |
fiscal_year.short | The fiscal year date in short format | 01/01/24 |
fiscal_year.year | The fiscal year | 2024 |
When you create a new engagement, you can use the available variables above to build the engagement letter name.
A firm admin can ask Aiwyn Support to adjust the firm's default engagement name to match the firm's overall preferences, using the available fields. If the firm is in implementation, the admin can make this request through the Implementation team.
