Summary
Payments can be made on behalf of clients by accessing the client's unique portal. Every active client in your practice management system automatically has a corresponding Client Portal. All payments you as a firm would like to process must be done so through a Client Portal or Quick Payment Link.

Steps to make a payment for a client
- Log into the Firm Portal
- Select “Clients” from the menu along the far left side
- Search for and find the client you would like to make a payment for on their behalf
- Under the “Actions” column, select the three small dots
- Select “Client Portal View”
- You will be brought to that client’s portal
- You can make a payment without an invoice or choose to pay one or more invoices
- You can choose to make a payment using the client's payment method they provided to you. NOTE: Client's saved payment methods will not be available for any firm user to use. However, you can save the payment method that you are using for future payments on their behalf
- You can choose which invoice(s) to include in the payment to be made
- You can choose to keep or remove late fees in the payment to be made. See figure 1 below
- If enabled, you can choose to keep, reduce, or zero out processing fees in the payment to be made, which are displayed after you enter a credit card number. See figure 1 below
- Once you have submitted the payment, the client billing contact(s), you, and any email addresses added manually in this area will receive a copy of the receipt
